With completely of my parts having arrived, I initiated reconvening the saw. Over, the pictures I took during disassembly were indispensable. Combined with the demonstrated parts break down, I’m confident that I place the saw back together properly. Eliminating and substituting the manners was the most challenging part of the reconstruct, as I didn’t have a manner puller or press. I had to usage quite a bit of inventiveness to get them substituted. Though, in the spirit of full revelation, I did finally buy a manner puller to help with the motor manners. They wouldn’t move for anything. The manner puller came from Harbor Freight, cost around $18, and worked great!
Next, I bought new urethane tires ($30), a K reg band saw fence ($107), Olsen Cool Blocks ($15), and a replacement switch from Grizzly ($23).
I ongoing by totally disassembling the saw and spring-cleaning each part with soap and water after elimination. I removed a ton of pictures along the way to safeguard things went back on the similar way they came off. This was very helpful throughout reassembly. As parts came off, I originate that all of the main parts were present, and only a trickle of hardware was lost or broken. I also obvious to substitute all of the manners in the machine (8 -2 for the upper wheel, two for the lowest wheel shaft, two thrust manners, and two manners in the motor). Based on the condition of the thrust manners, I dreaded that the rest were original to a saw that had clearly been harmed. I began exploring the small parts I wanted using an illustrated parts breakdown I originate online. I ordered the parts only to discovery out that the parts were on back order from Delta. I strained another parts place – same contract. Crap! Seemingly Delta is going through some difficulties, and as a outcome, it’s currently practically impossible to get parts from them. I sent a thread on Lumberjocks.com inquiring around the parts I wanted. The great members at LJs informed me that all of the parts I wanted were obtainable, and were not in any way, branded to Delta. I ordered a particular finger spring washer from McMaster Carr, and obtained the rest of the hardware locally. I bought the manners from McGuire Manners here in town. They were very cooperative, and answered all of the questions I had. I expended $53 for the 8 manners I bought, which I thought was fair.
