Band Saw Blade Guides Replacing the Tires of a Band Saw

Replacing the tires wasn't as hard as I assumed it would be. I just scraped off the elderly tires, with cleaned up the wheels. The new tires were saturated in warm water to make them more flexible. Then strained over the wheels with the aid of a couple clamps to grip the tire to the wheels. A large screwdriver to stretch the tire ended the wheel, as-well as my father for an additional set of hands.

Next I replaced the on/off switch. Firstly I strained wiring up the new switch the similar way the elderly switch was, but it caused my breaker to pop when it was twisted on. With that, I gripped the multi meter I had unconventional from my high school electronics class 16 years before, also set out to figure out what was supposed to go where. An hour or so future, it was done. I don't know for definite that I wired it properly, but it goes on, the motor turns in the right way, along with the circuit breaker doesn't pop, so I must have become close. I had to substitute the metric mounting hardware that the Fractious switch came with standard hardware to appropriate the saw. Easy enough.

From the time the saw rolled into my shop, to now, was about six months, as-well as the total cost was far more that the $60 I paid for the saw. All told, I have just about $300 in the saw. This makes it an OK value, but no great bargain. This also does not include all the hours I put into it. That being said, it was a great experience, also a lot of fun. Also, I now know the saw like the back of my hand, together with maintaining in-conjunction with repairing it doesn't intimidate me in the least. Although it was a great experience, I'm not sure I'll do it again – unless I run into another “great” deal.
