Don’t forget dust collection. Re-sawing products lots of dirt also it's typically pretty fine. Certainly, dust assortment attachments on most band saws aren't great, but whatsoever you have is better than nothing. If you discovery lots of dust accumulation on your tires, unplug the saw and clean the tires with a rag moisturized with mineral spirits. Clean tires help your saw perform better.
Band saw Re-sawing
Cut logs into‐lumber, create narrow boards from thick and cut your personal veneer. Maybe you need to cut 3/4-in.-dense material down to 3/8 in., and create veneer from that one valuable figured board. Or maybe you need to get useful lumber from a gorgeous piece of wood in your firewood pile. The talent that creates this possible is re sawing. Although it fair plain baffles some woodworkers, once you receive the hang of it, you’ll be surprised at what you can do, even on a little band saw. Here’s what you need to create it all happen: blade selection, shop-made jigs, setup and cutting tips.
Usage the widest blade your saw can handle:
1/2 in. or 3/4 in. for most saws. Wide blades create it simple to cut a straight line. Look for a blade with four teeth per inch and a hook tooth pattern. The curved teeth give you great crops (the valleys among the teeth) to clear the sawdust from the cut and help the blade track cool. Heat is a blade’s biggest enemy. Re-sawing thrusts your saw’s motor to the max, so create it simple on your saw through continuously using a sharp blade.
