In Conclusion. As you can see there is not much to making rip, cross, or compound cuts. Using the fence and miter gouge is something you can get the hang of very quickly. But as easy as it is, the biggest mistake you can make is to become complacent when using a table saw. Remember you are handling a very powerful tool with an incredibly sharp blade that rotates at several thousand RPM. Always make sure to follow the safety measures, and you will be fine.
Blade Sizing. Blade Sizes there are two ways table saw blades are sized: their outside diameter, and the diameter of the mounting hole. Most standard blades for table saws are 8, 10 or 12 inches in diameter, but there are blades as small as 3 3/8 inches in diameter and as large as 30 inches in diameter. The bigger ones are designed for specific commercial purposes, of course, but man, that's a big blade!
On/Off Switch. The on/off switchThese days, table saws come with an on/off switch that allows for easy access should the situation call for it. Usually these switches are located at the front of the saw, and preferably the off button should be large enough to be operated using your entire hand (protected of course), elbow, or even your knee. The easier it is to switch the table saw off, the better.
