6. Set the Blade Guides
If you're operating a bench top saw, chances are it has a movable blade guide. Move the guide so that it's close to the woodland inventory you're cutting, but without the possibility of binding or jamming the material.
8. Set Miter Guides
If operating a miter guide to create a linear cut, ensure it has been set accurately. This will allow it to hold the inventory in line when performing a linear line cut.
4. Adjust Blade Tension
Always eliminate the band saw from its faculty source before you do this, as this is known to cause many injuries. To test the tightness of the blade, raise the blade guide to maximum height, and press side ward against the blade. If required, adjust the blade tension according to the manufacturer's manual.
